Buying a Mini Rex from Lone Pine
I am glad you are considering adopting a Mini Rex from Lone Pine! First things first,
What To Expect
I pride myself in breeding healthy animals that are show quality as well as loving pets. All of my breeding stock are free of genetic diseases. They are all up to date on flea and tick medication, wormer as well as vaccines. Although the USA does not require rabbits to be vaccinated, we do not take chances with our animals health. Every bunny in our barn that is of appropriate age is protected against Pasteurella, Myxomatosis and Viral Hacmorrhagic (RVHD1 and RVHD2).
We do not breed rabbits that have not won any legs (awards). We usually wait until our rabbits are registered Grand Champions (GC) prior to breeding. Our does are only bred once or twice a year to ensure their health and longevity do not suffer. We usually only have one litter at a time. Each litter is raised indoors to avoid outdoor dangers (weather, predators, diseases, insects and parastates). This way they also grow up social and easy to handle. We can accurately assess the quality we are producing doing this.
We keep our rabbitry relatively small. Our show/breeding team is never more than 7 or 8. All our rabbits are raised in the home and away from dangers. They are given their individual appropriately sized space with room to stretch out, hides, fresh water, unlimited hay and toys for enrichment. During the day, everyone gets to play in their runs and kick up their heels. They are given fresh grass, a dig area, toys, chews and hides to explore. Each bunny gets individual time to bond with the family.
If you want a pet rabbit, I require they are spayed/neutered before leaving. Once the bunny is healed, you are free to take them home. If you are interested in a show quality rabbit, I would suggest holding off until the rabbits are at least 3 months or older. I try to plan breeding's around shows so that I may get the expert opinion of a judge. This way I can get a good feel for who will be best suited for the show tables. I do not guarantee that any rabbit will place in a show or will be fertile, all I can give you is a rabbit free from DQ's at the time of sale. I will be transparent with what I believe are good and bad qualities with each bunny. I will go over the positives and negatives of each rabbit to help assist you.
What Comes With Your New Bunny?
When you pick up your bunny you can expect this in their go home bag.
A hard copy of the pedigree will be given at the time of pickup. Pedigrees can be replaced for a small fee and sent via email or a hard copy through USPS.
